I think it's about time I posted a full length rant.

I'm not pissed nor fed up, just tired.

Just checked [link] for upcoming movies they're planning to show and JET AGAIN I'm disappointed. No, no, the movies are fine; some good stuff, some gutter trash, just the usual.

And just as usual every effin animated movie is 3D!!1
SERIOUSLY you guise! I want no I need some good old 2D!

you know back when Shrek and Ice Age (first) ran, 3D was cool and interesting, you know. It was more special. Now it's like... I dunno. It's gotten so old. Quite often after watching some trailer I think that, you know, the plot's cute and shit BUT its some half arsed 3D again. Referring to "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" here that's like a splinter in my eye right now because it just was in the way. (google it) A bit too kiddy for me maybe, but I srsly think the idea is not too bad (it's based on a book I hear) and it could possibly produce some giggles. But just look at the animation itself.

1: Absolutely whatsoever no no no thought has been put to character concept and design. Its your basic bendy stick figure with some fat here and there. BOOORING. In the very unfortunate case that THIS was intentional then..dunno isn't really working for me.

2: Could they at least have put some more effort into it. I'd totally be in awe if this was a work of a few individuals but I doubt it. Movies like these have a team behind them and clearly they're not using their human resource efficiently. (Is this where recession has gotten us?)

3: Not so much about this particular piece but recent 3D movies as a whole: Am I the only one who feels like they're repeating themselves. Every movie essentially has a different plot but how come every time I finish watching a trailer I feel like I've seen that shit a thousand times already. It's like your stereotypical action movies (and these actually seem to have more variety imho)

4: Towards 3D in general again: I hate it how smooth everything always is. Even when they try not to it still has that smoothness. It might just be a hint but it's there.

With all the technology and software progressing it doesn't just mean that you can do more advanced 3D (btw, I constantly keep typing BD) and add fancy effects into real movies, you can also put all that jazz and MORE into 2D. WHY don't they realise that?!
(wtf, my internet just disappeared for half and hour.)

For example Lion King (never seen that one actually to be frank) I dunno what year it was made but that piece of ACTUAL FRIGGIN MOVIE ARTWORK still has fans and people remember it well. These 3D mass productions come and go, they never stay. COME ON Disney and Pixar and all the rest of them, open your eyes!

I hope it's like fashion: reverts to basics every once in a while.

Ahh, I so need to study geography now, it's..it's just not even funny anymore.
